As a member of the Veteran Facing Forms team within the OCTO unit of the VA (Veterans Affairs), I spent most of my time modernizing forms, creating and updating form patterns in the VA design system, and crafting documentation to help product teams design and modernize forms. One example of my design system documentation work is a brand new form step template page. This page, for the first time, breaks down all the pieces within a design system form step and provides guidance on how to customize and utilize all the components and patterns within the page template.
